Anybody can log on to the site to and vote for the projects that they think will make a difference. Home-Start Portsmouth are registered as a project that you can vote for and we could be awarded up to £6000 if we get enough votes; this money would help us to recruit and train more much needed volunteers. THE GREAT SOUTH RUN

As a loval event to Portsmouth, we are delighted to announce that we have a two runners in The Great South Run this year.

David Hockley, our group facilitator's husband,  is running this year for the first time and has chosen to raise money for us.

Hannah Thomas, our very own co-ordinator, will be running for us too. Hannah is also running for the first time this year and is taking it all in her stide - I'm not convinced she's done any training yet at all!!!

All donations of this nature get added to the money that is raised by our fundraising group and fund family events like the Christmas party, the summer outing to Paultons and summer picnics so dig deep if you can and show your support for these brave individuals!

FAMILY PICNIC:

Boy with sunglasses
A good time was had by all at our family picnic on 12th August. The weather tried to ruin the day but thanks to the very kind people at Craneswater School we were able to decamp into the school and the fun continued! These events are all funded and organised by our fantastic Friends of Home-Start group. Ladies - you truly are wonderful!

PAULTONS PARK 2011

A massive THANK YOU!!! once again to the relentless work of our fundraising group, The Friends of Home-Start, for the efforts they have put in all year to make this year's trip to Paultons a fantstic day to remember for everyone. The money that is raised by them throughout the year is all put towards the summer outing and the Christmas party - we really couldn't do these 'extras' without the money that they raise.

The families (and staff and volunteers!) all had a wonderful day, the weather was kind and there were lots of closed eyes on the return coach trip. Can you spot yourself amongst the pics below?!
