| Family Picnic The friends of Home-Start organised a fun day out for our families and volunteers to enjoy together on 5th August. Unfortunately the poor weather meant fewer people turned up than expected, but even this worked out in our favour as it meant that the brilliant entertainer we had booked to make balloon animals for the kids had time to put on a magic show too! Besides that we had two volunteer face-painters and a few special races including the age-old favourite, the egg and spoon. Hopefully we can arrange an even better day for next year, and we won't be let down by the weather!  Paultons Park Our annual trip to Paultons Park was a great day as usual. The sun was shining and the families all seemed to have a great time. Thank you ever so much to all the volunteers that worked so hard to raise all the money to finance the trip and to the volunteers that accompanied their families on the day. And of course thank you to the staff for their part in making the whole day run really smoothly. |

Office Takeover!!!
Home-Start Portsmouth is now a two room concern! As one of our neighbours in the building we occupy has recently moved out, we wated no time in moving ourselves in!
This has allowed us to create a more comfortable and open environment for us to work in but more importantly, gives us somewhere more private in which to supervise volunteers and speak confidentially with other visitors.
Great South Run
We are delighted to announce that a longstanding friend of Home-Start, Suzanne Jackson, has decided to run The Great South Run for us on 24th October this year. We all think she's absolutely mad of course but we are at the same time very grateful and wish her the best of luck!

you so much to our friend and supporter, Richard Williams, who
successfully completed the London Marthon this year to raise funds for
our Summer Outing. On his first ever marathon at the ripe old age
of......????, he completed the course in a
very impressive 5 hours and 10 minutes - and that was with an achilles
injury!!! Richard's
aim was to raise £1000 and his grand total was an impressive £790.
Thanks again Richard - you're a star!

Ladies' Night 2010
A
second sucessful Ladies Night held on the 9th of July raised another
£560 for Home-Start Portsmouth. Many thanks to everyone who helped to
organise this event and also to all who supported us by coming along
and joining in the fun.
